Villa del Sol's 55 individually designed rooms and suites are tucked away in several two-story casitas surrounded by an abundance of palms, tall bamboo, brilliantly hued bougainvillea and colorful hibiscus. High-end accommodations offer the utmost in privacy and comfort, turning each suite into a luxury retreat. Suites are spacious and airy, featuring king-sized canopied beds, separate living areas, private terraces or balconies with lagoon or ocean views, private outdoor minipools, double-sized chaise lounges and extra large hammocks that are perfect for watching the fiery sunsets. Telephones, adjustable air-conditioning, ceiling fans, mini-bars, thick cotton bathrobes, electronic safes, satellite TV, stereo radio, cassette and CD-players are standard features.

Beach All suites are just steps away from the palm-studded private beach which stretches for over 600 feet along the calm blue waters of the ocean and is strewn with teak lounge chairs under shade-spending individual palapas. Mexican influences such as colorful fabrics, wood and stone carvings, hand-painted furniture, ceramic tiles, and indigenous artwork reflect the warmth and charm of Zihuatanejo.

At Villa del Sol, we know how hard it is -even in Paradise- to roll out of bed in the morning before your first cup of coffee…This is why we let you wake up gently. Our staff places a thermos of freshly brewed coffee in front of your door at dawn, so that you can open your eyes just enough to read your complimentary New York Times fax and start making plans for the fabulous day ahead.

Lazy -or Active- Days at the Beach

Villa del Sol's white sandy beach is just outside your door. It doesn't get much better than this: a mile-long, crescent-moon shaped beach with fine sand and swaying palm trees in a sheltered bay off the Pacific ocean. Many call our beach the most beautiful one in all of Mexico. The warm waters, naturally sheltered from the Pacific, are ideal for swimming and all kinds of watersports year-round. At Villa del Sol we make arrangements for windsurfing, sailing, water-skiing, snorkeling or scuba diving. Of course, the beach is also perfect for doing nothing at all. Just relax on a comfortable lounge chair, exotic drink in hand, and read your favorite book. Too lazy even to read? Get a relaxing massage, watch the pelicans dive for fish or order lunch directly under your beach palapa. Our beach staff will set your table with linen and bring you a variety of mouthwatering temptations created in one of our two great restaurants.

Enchanted Evenings

Share your dreams over dinner at one of our two great restaurants. Knowing that different people have different ideas of a perfect honeymoon dinner, we offer two choices of restaurants to satisfy everyone's taste. If you are dreaming of an elegant candlelit dinner under the stars, accompanied by fine wines, sophisticated international cuisine and subtle classical music, then "The Restaurant at Villa del Sol" is the place to go. For those who prefer a more informal and casual atmosphere, we have created "La Cantina Bar and Grill". Here the fresh grilled fish and Mediterranean-style food are lip-smackingly good, and the lively music will make you want to share a dance. The setting of the Cantina is equally romantic, outside on a large wooden deck by the water's edge. After dinner, enjoy a game of backgammon or a romantic nightcap in "Orlando's Bar", Villa del Sol's famous watering hole, named after our bartender who has turned this into a friendly sanctuary for happy guests looking for superior margaritas, wickedly delicious tropical drinks and the smoothest tequilas south of the border.

    Prices range, according to season and the type of accommodation you choose. Summer Rates, which are based on double occupancy, start at $160 and range to $600 for a Beach Suite with an ocean view. An optional $40 per person/per day Meal Plan includes breakfast and dinner at the resort.
